Arkansas Man Hunts For Wife He Lost In 1862
Chattanooga, TN. Jan. 18. E.D. (Ned) Poor, of Humphrey, Ark. who lost track of his wife in 1862, when he entered the Confederate army, and who has never ceased his search for her in nearly sixty years, has applied to Chief of police for assistance in locating her, having received information she was in this city.
Poor was married in Claiborne County, Tennessee in 1861 and went away to the war in the following year, according to the letter received by the Chief Baker. His wife's maiden name was Mary Frances Morris. If alive she would be nearly 70 years old. Poor suggested to the chief that she may have married again.
The matter was placed in the hands of the detective department by Chief Baker.
